As I walked through the Arcata Community Forest yesterday, I was greeted by Redwood Violets, Viola sempervirens. These delicate yellow flowers stood out in the forest of green and shared their story with me.
Redwood violet’s flowers grow on a separate stalk from their heart shaped leaves. This flower shared that she helps us listen to our hearts. She helps us open ourselves with confidence, with an awareness that we have support from the “whole”, just like she does (seemingly standing on her own). She says that the forest works together both above and beneath the surface.
If you are in need of support, if you are not feeling your personal power sit with violets and let her guide you.
